Project: Nature Pond
Location: Swavesey
Status: Complete
We recently completed a stunning natural wildlife pond for a delighted new customer. Measuring 6m long by 3m wide, this eco-friendly feature was designed to blend seamlessly into the garden while creating a thriving habitat for frogs, newts, dragonflies, birds, and other wildlife.
Key highlights of the project:
- Gentle sloping sides for safe, easy access — perfect for amphibians and small mammals to enter and exit without risk.
- A charming small waterfall and flowing stream that provide gentle aeration, soothing sounds, and natural movement.
- Over one tonne of carefully selected stunning rocks used to frame the pond, build the waterfall cascade, and create natural ledges, hiding spots, and micro-habitats.
- Wide marginal shelves and shallow zones around the edges, ideal for planting native aquatic and marginal plants to enhance biodiversity and natural beauty.
- An irregular, organic shape that looks like it has always been part of the landscape.
The result is a low-maintenance, self-sustaining ecosystem that attracts wildlife naturally — no heavy filtration or chemicals needed. The rocks and plants hide all construction elements for a truly wild, integrated appearance.
This pond not only adds tranquility and visual appeal but also supports local biodiversity — a true win for any garden!
